I had been smelling gas around my meter for a while but it was faint and I don't have the best sense of smell. So I got this meter to be really sure what's going on.I put it near a rusty portion of the natural gas pipe and it went off immediately. Clear and unambiguous detection. I called the cas company, they came and got the same result in the same place. Now I await the plumber.Do note that the detection range is down to 50ppm. If you have an extremely small leak this detector may miss it. Also, if the detection is over 1000ppm it's not going to tell you how bad it really is. If it maxes out it may be 1,000ppm or 50,000ppm and that difference may matter. So this detector isn't meant to tell you how bad things are, it's really only meant to confirm locations of leaks and that some amount of gas is in fact leaking.

Works well, I tested this around my hob with no detection, and then moving the dial slowly to bring the gas on, it detected gas before I could even hear it, is seems very sensitive which has to be a good thing.Great peace of mind having this simple tool to check things after you get work done, invaluable!
