Perfect fit our girl was just spayed last week and we couldn’t have managed as well as we did without this dog vest it stopped her from constantly licking her wound so much so we ordered another so we could change over while the other was in the wash. The fabric is soft and stretchy and breathable putting to strain on her wound very easily washed and dried. Excellent value and a must have in our book would highly recommend.

I've tried a few different suits on my rescue dog and this one has worked best, no fiddly poppers that can upset an anxious dog. Stays on well, and easy to undress the back again quickly for urgent wees and then join back together again.

Please excuse the poor photo. Our staffy was not pleased to model this, as he isn't thrilled with being dressed up and he also is quite camera shy. So he ran into a room used mostly for storage right now. But at least this photo shows his front end while most of the others show the hind parts.Key points for this suit.#1 very easy to get on and off.#2 Good fit.#3 Secure fastenings.#4 option to cut away underneath section for dog to pee, or leave it intact.I chose this for A male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who 16 1/8" to 16 1/4" . Of course he doesn't vary in size, but my measurements do . Even dog show judges who measure countless dogs as part of their livelihood will get slightly different measurements with the same dog on different days. It all has to do with stance and measuring skill. My skills are somewhat lacking. In retrospect, I should have ordered small. I chose just slightly larger because I have thrown away two body suits meant to fit his size as much too small. I do realise they are meant to be tight. But they shouldn't hurt a dog putting them on and off or be so tight as to be uncomfortable. This was just the tiniest fraction large , not being quite as tight as I would like for post surgery support, but it is in fact perfect for my purposes.I decided to request this for two reasons. Firstly, I use these suits as birth control, because I have an intact male and female, but will never breed either. They are kept separate most of the time when she goes into heat, but having them both securely dressed with body suits and a belly band or nappies allows them to see eachother for brief periods with two adults monitoring at all times. I have done this multiple times without incident. My other reason for ordering this when we are not planning surgery is that sometimes surgeries are not planned. The last time I had a dog require surgery he came home with he hated cone. This caused him so much distress that we took it off and the family took shifts sitting up with him so that we could be sure he didn't lick or chew at his wound, and he could still feel safe and comfortable.I have never known a dog that wasn't to some degree upset by the cone. This eliminates the need for most cases.Though not as distressing as the cone, my staffy still doesn't like it. He most definitely didn't want his photo taken looking like this. I would put a review above his comfort, so I respected his wishes and took it off. But I will work with Jim more on putting it on for a few seconds getting treats and taking it off. This way if he ever is forced to wear a suit for surgery, he will hopefully be less upset. His distaste is nothing to do with the product, it is very soft and nice. He just doesn't seem to appreciate being dressed. Some dogs are happy to play dress up, some despise it. He doesn't seem to mind when the female is in heat, as he associates it with getting to see her, but was disgusted to try it in with no reason he could see. But as I said it is useful for them to be tolerate such things if they ever do need surgery. If planning an operation you will also want to be very sure of size before the surgery, and familiarise yourself and the dog with the process of getting the suit on and off. Depending on the surgery your dog may need to wear this for two weeks or more. In that case you should have at least two , and preferably 3-5 as the suit will need to be removed and laundered. You absolutely won't want to have the wrestle dog into or out of the suit, so make sure the dog is trained to accept being dressed ( even if they do give you stink eye) and you can do it quickly and efficiently while remaining very gentle. For abdominal surgery , I would go with a slightly more snug fit to offer support immediately post op and then cut it off if needed. But this suit does fit as expected, and the rest of the time you will want a correctly fitted suit to make dressing and undressing easier. If in doubt, bring two sizes to the vet. The dog is normally dressed while under anesthetic so you don't have to mess with it immediately after surgery.I do plan to buy another of these suits, probably a few more to have for the females next year, and so I can continue to condition the male just in case.I have no complaints or issues where it falls short, though judging by the loom on the dogs face, he might be able to add a few complaints if he could speak.
