Loops came undone on both of the E strings on two sets out of three. This must have been from a bad batch.I did not wind them overly tight, had the clip-on tuner from Korg, and kept going up and exactly E. Took three or four days for the whole set to get stretched out to remain in tune, but this may not be a correct duration as I had placed a new bridge too, and may be bridge was also settling own, specially given the fact that I had to make groves for strings with a pocket knife for the A and E strings on the bridge. (Have had to do that a few times before as well, nothing unusual or big deal for me."Then, suddenly one day found the outboard E string way too loose. Thought kids probably got to it, so without thinking much started to tune, but it will just plop down octaves below after a few tunes, so I realized what was going on. Hoping that loop might just tighten itself snug and hold up, I kept going, but the loop ended up coming undone without ever hitting the pitch.Replaced it with a new one from the set #2, same story, ended up with all 4 strings from two sets coming undone. I had just let it happen to see if it was just one set, or it will be a problem that will happen with the other set.I did not throw away the two E strings from the second set though, and made a loop manually myself using the technique used on Sitar or Tanpura from India, because I am familiar with that since teenage, so I stick to that method on mandolins too.Overall, the set sounds fine, just fine rather than out of the world, once fully stretched/settled in. Neither bright nor mellow, just at the usual sweet spot for a usual $400iss Gold Tone F-35 acoustic.
