Got these as a Christmas present for imaginative boys ages 7 and 8. I was impressed with the feel and look of the swords. They are not floppy, they are firm with a bit of flex. They have been played with often, and so far (a couple months in) they have held up well with only some scuff-looking discoloration at the tips of the swords. I had a hard time finding something that was not geared toward toddlers or adults that was also a reasonable price.
