I ordered this device as I was having some difficulty accurately identifying the paint colour in a few rooms in my house after moving in. The ColorReader was really easy to set up and works well on my phone. The app works well and has a number of useful features. I particularly liked the feature which suggests colours that coordinate with the main colour you match.I would recommend this device. I feel it was good value for money and a useful bit of kit. Much easier than relying on guess work or multiple colour card matches to identify possible colour matches!

Tenía mis dudas tras leer algunas reservas para comprarlo pero finalmente lo compré y funciona bien. Yo uso una carta RAL y va fenomenal.

Love this little unit! I keep it in my purse as I’m constantly looking at decor and I can match colours to blend perfectly with my home.

Consigliato.

At first I gave this device a negative review based on the first couple of ways I evaluated it. The app by which you use the device displays a color on your phone, and this displayed color on my phone was always so terribly different to my eye from the color I just scanned. Secondly, I had some DKK cards for photographic color calibration which it seemed to not perform well on at all, since the ColorReader could give me a reading of the color specs which I could compare against the designated specs of the color calibration card. But later, I did some other experiments/tests with this device and these completely changed my mind. First, I have a high end tablet with digital art software, and I also do traditional art with paint. I already had made swatches of all my paint hues in a notebook, and so I took my digital art program and totally by eye, matched a digital art paint color (by RGB values) to my physical swatches of paint. Most of these I felt pretty confident about, and then I gave the color reader a try on my physical paint swatches. The color reader gave me what I had determined was the right hue on almost all my swatches to the exact hue degree, or at the most within 1 degree, and that could have been me being off by 1 degree. This gave me a lot of confidence that both the color reader and my color matches by eye were accurate since it is against long odds that we are both making errors in the same directions in the exact same amounts. However, there were a couple of colors that the color reader and I were in significant disagreement. But the good news is that these paints were Daniel Smith paints and Daniel Smith has this super cool color map and provides exact color measurements for each of their paints. And it turned out that the paint in question was listed as a 101 hue and color reader measured it at 100. That's really good. The darker value of the paint and its slight desaturated color made it look to my eye much cooler than it actually was. The color reader has been super valuable for helping me learn these kinds of things about color. The other color that the color reader nailed and I was way off was on an ultramarine blue. Daniel Smith's color measurement was in agreement with the color reader whereas it looked like a much warmer blue to my eye. But then once I sufficiently darkened the color and slightly desaturated it, there it was. So, based on all of my complete agreements with its readings and being able to externally verify its correctness when I've disagreed with it, I would say this is a really good color measurement device for its price. Don't be fooled if the color it gives you on the phone looks like complete bogus. I still think my phone's displayed color looks like complete bogus. I still don't know why it performed not so well on the DKK cards...maybe something was lost in the translation between color systems that I had to do.
