I discovered these with an assorted pack from Dava. The jazz grip is just the right size for me. Plus the pick's tip gives me the exact feel I need on the electric guitar while generating a really nice and full sound. The sound does change with different tips, others being slightly brighter according to my experience. Once I tried these, I was hooked.

I have been a big fan of Dava picks for about half a decade now. Early on into my musical journey an older, guitarist friend introduced me to these strange red and black rubber/plastic hybrid picks. I scoffed and almost refused. They looked ridiculous. "How could anything feel better than my Tortex picks," I thought to myself. Well, I'm glad I decided against my better judgment to try these out. From the first note picked I was totally hooked.First of all, these are not large picks by any means. They're about 2/3 to 3/4 of the size of a "regular" Tortex or Fender style pick, but with a pointier, longer tip. That being said they offer superior playability for their size. The rubber grip and indents and grooves in the pick really do make a difference. I have terribly sweaty hands and I've lost many picks onstage to my sweat. It stinks, dude. No fear, you will never experience that with these. They practically feel glued to your fingers when you start playing and building up speed. Out of the five years I've owned these picks I've only had to purchase another pack. One six pack many moons ago and another just last week. These are thicker picks than regular Tortex and Fender mediums. In comparison, they're similar in thickness to Dunlop Jazz IIIs and Max-Grips (albeit smaller and wider.) The shape of these picks is like an upside down cartoon teardrop and they're super comfortable. Their thickness notwithstanding, the picks have a nice flex to them, without feeling floppy (like EVH mediums and Dunlops.) You can really beat the snots out of them with legato runs, sweep arpeggios, alternate picked sequences, and all the notes ring out with clarity and definition. These picks last forever too-- I owned two for almost four years with minimal wear to the tips. The delrin material they're made out of is super tough.Okay, you've made it this far, I bet you're wondering: "Do they really improve my playing?" Obviously this is going to be a subjective statement as players are individual in their styles and improvements. Me personally, I can attest and vouch for that statement. They definitely help improve right hand technique and in addition make left hand techniques easier for me. It's not going to be an instant improvement but once you get the hang of these and learn to control their abilities you can fly! Their attack and resistance is wonderful; truly one of a kind.Would recommend to players of all styles. I personally play electric, lots of metal and classic rock. Great for funk and blues as well. Too weird for you? Worth a try at least.
