The book itself is really great and packed with extras for your other campaigns even if you're not going to run this one but the packing was really horrible. It came in a big carton box with nothing else inside as a protective layer for the book. Cover corners are all frayed. Really shameful...

Another top notch adventure. WotC really seems to have struck a good balance between guidance and freedom.Minor Spoilers ahead:Seeing that it takes place in Avernus had me slightly worried that the setting would get dull and boring, but there is quite a lot of variety and lore.This book good if you want more detailed information about the city of Baldur's Gate too. Like Waterdeep: Dragon Heist there is a lot of information about the city it takes place in.The only issue I had with the adventure this time was that you kind of have to assume that the characters want to save a city they may or may not care about. The adventure could have used a little more drive for the PCs, especially considering the dangerous environment they are headed to with seemingly very little planning. Nothing a DM can't work with though and it's a minor nitpick.I'd rank this with the top 5e adventures.I hope they move on and create a Neverwinter adventure. I'm really liking the city model they have been using.

Ich werde demnächst eine Kampagne auf Basis dieses Buchs für meine Spieler starten, freue mich sehr darauf. Die Prämisse des Buchs ist super, einzig der Anfang ist ein bisschen schleppend, sobald man allerdings im namensgebenden Avernus ist, ist der Buch content mega.PS. Die beigefügte Karte ist auch klasse

I’m still reading through this, overall love the story line and the infernal plot.What shined for me was the maps! I can’t stand the arty DnD maps in other modules as I find them very difficult to read. These maps are a return to classic maps which I find clear, easy to read and therefore easy to plot out on a tile mat for combat. It’s seems others are not pleased with this style, me, I love am!If only we could see more of this style of maps in campaigns.
