My daughter already had a slightly longer white desk with drawers from Ikea for studying, but wanted another desk for doing makeup. We had only so much space between her original desk and her dresser. I measured the space and this desk seemed the right size, bcuz it didn’t have drawers on the side or extra length to it.My daughter was using her original desk for both studying and makeup, so she was tired of removing her books for makeup, then coming back late from events and trying to study in the morning, but having to remove and wipe off all the makeup first. I looked at vanities but they were either the wrong size or too expensive. This desk was the perfect size!! And we loved the simple design. We put it next to her homework desk and it totally blends in and looks perfect! The extra storage shelves are perfect spot for her eyeshadow kits etc. She is really happy with it and we both love how it looks!Oh and I did assemble the desk myself… I don’t assemble stuff usually but after moving and getting new furniture recently, I did assemble a couple of easy things with a screwdriver. That’s all I know how to use. Just very basics. So I thought I should be able to assemble this desk, knowing full well it will take me a lot longer than the recommended time.I was doing great at the beginning and then encountered the cam locking screws. Never seen these before in my life and was confused how these worked. I spent a lot of time looking this up and had to watch a video. Then it took me a while to figure out how to get the lock piece in just right (after getting confused at first with all the holes and where I was putting the lock parts, so lots of double checking on my part). It was a bit tricky and the locks have to go in a certain way. It really took me a long time to get these in. By the third time I realized I just needed to push it in a bit harder when it was positioned right and then it would screw right in. I also had to stop and stare at the diagram a lot and check my work (ADHD issues) but I’m proud of myself bcuz little old me did figure it all out and I did put it together.Took me over 2 hours for what was listed as a half hour job but hey, I got the job done. My daughter had a desk by the end of the night and that’s all that mattered. But ya for anyone else, I don’t think it would take them as long as it took me. It’s a pretty quick job if you know what you’re doing. 🫣😅
