I've used this with a few different bits (see photo), and usability is fine. I'm a DIYer without a lot of reps with this product, but it works for my level of use. I've used both the locking hex shank type bit as well as magnetic. I find that the magnetic holds maybe a little better than the hex shank. I've had no difficulty inserting to, or releasing from, the impact driver (mine is a Dewalt DCF601).I've read a few reviews that got the wrong product, and their photos are indeed the wrong product. That would be a fault of order fulfillment, and such a product should be returned if it doesn't look like the one in the photo I've attached. Notice the white arrow on the black collar, which indicates the direction to pull that collar to release the bit.I can't speak to durability because of limited use as a DIYer. However, I'm glad to have this in the toolbox for when I need it.

BEST extension DEWALT ever made and lock bit , slim line that can fit in tight edge , corner . So good that i bought one of each size , Milwaukee made them too but they keep dropping off screw bit and wobbling too . I tried other extension too but seemed to waste $$ , wobbling too much , in the end DEWALT comes out with slime line and lock in tight . Buy once and you have the best made by DEWALT .
