Taught my kid to solder with this one. Moderately easy to build (although final parts needed my expert hand). Not novice, need to build it carefully as the last step (the digits) are hard to go back from. At the end, this is a useful gadget to have around, a bright clock to use, practical.The thermometer also looks surprisingly accurate.Also note that you'd need a CR1216 battery (or is it?) that is not common to have around.UX is "meh". Cadence of [two] buttons are not intuitive, "hour chimes" are a bit too noisy to use. I suppose, however, that this would be easy to hack with some improved firmware; a project for the future.
