Productbeschrijving

Hoogwaardige en dimbare 12 W led-transformator voor dimbare ledlampen met 12 V constante spanning. De dimbare 12 watt led-transformator kan met een standaard faseafsnijdimmer worden gedimd.
- Eenvoudige aansluiting via schroefterminals (ingang/uitgang).
- Overspannings- en kortsluitingsbeveiliging.
- Vermogen: 12 Watt
- Ingangsspanning ~ 220-240 V ~ 50 Hz (0,1A)
- Uitgangsspanning = 12 V DC (gelijkspanning) met 1000 mA
- Maximale Omgevingstemperatuur: 40 °C
- Vermogensfactor: > 0,95.
Afmeting: (Lengte/breedte/hoogte): 92 x 42 x 19mm
Gewicht: 63 g.

As I write this I'm only the second reviewer of this item. The first reviewer notes that the dimming down is totally incompatible with using incandescent lights on the same dimmer, because the LEDs will still be very bright wnen the incandescent lights are nearly off. He's quite right ! I haven't properly worked out why the dimming "profile" is the way it is, but as long as you don't expect it to dim down very low and if you only drive PB-Versand (or similar) LEDs with it you won't be too disappointed.I have tried it with PB-Versand's 1.4W LEDs (ASIN: B00TPCNVZK) and 2.0W LEDs (ASIN: B00TPCQ5VM) with dimming controlled by a Varilight JQI252 V-Pro touch/remote dimmer (ASIN: B00IUNDMBI). I really liked the LEDs, but my reviews of them describe the way they dim as "weird" (read those reviews only if you have time on your hands, they go on a bit !) but in fact the way they work with this dimmer overcomes that weirdness and replaces it with a different sort of weirdness (as noted above, and by the previous reviewer).Using the Varilight V-Pro dimmers one gets a choice of 3 "modes" in the hopes that at least one of them is compatible with your lighting load. Varilight's instructions state "Use default MODE 1 only for LEDs powered via electronic transformers". I can report that I saw some flickering in "mode 1", but only as brightness was being adjusted. I disobeyed the instructions and tried "mode 2" and then I saw no flickering at all.If I don't give this 5 stars it's because I can't believe it's not possible to make a dimming transformer that has a better dimming characteristic with low voltage LED lights. However, I don't know of one, so I'll build my own - except I'll cheat by doing the dimming control at the 12V level and not the 240V level. To be honest the real reason I will make my own dimmer for my PB-Versand LED lights is not because of any disappointment with this transformer, rather because I want to pull together remote control of them with some (hacked) IKEA "Tradfri" lights (so that they are all on the same page of my programmable remote control).Update a long time later :Since I wrote this review this item has become unavailable. PB Versand continue to offer their dimmable LEDs to Amazon UK customers, but don't offer a dimmable transformer to match, which is a business position that's hard to understand. In the search for an alternative I tried the Varilight YT50L (B01BX258XM on Amazon) and was very pleased with the way it dims down right to "off" (the varilight V-pro dimmers have a means of limiting the dimming range if you don't want to go that low). There is flickering aplenty as you do the dimming, but otherwise it's flicker-free, so that's o.k. in my book. It's annoying that the YT50L is available only with flying leads (both AC and DC sides) when I'd prefer a screw terminal version, but there are ways of coping with that. Therefore I'm knocking my review of this PB Versand transformer down to 3 stars and recommending the YT50L.

Successfully dims 2x PB-Versand G4 Mini LEDs 2 Watt lamps (replacing a pair of halogen capsule lamps and dimmable transformer) with no flicker or flashing.Only 4 stars as1: the terminals are a bit small - fitting one wire only (so required an external junction box on the 12v side as each fitting had its own cable) and the terminals are too close to the exit hole so permitting only very short tails.2: they are 'late dimming down' in that they only even start to dim below 100% output when the dimmer (and other connected lights) are down to 50% they remain much brighter than other lights. They only meaningfully dim when the dimmer is on the lowest 10% and other lights have extinguished. Unclear if this is the driver or the lamps - but both are from PB-Versand.
