I have a box full of leather items needing repair: purses, handbags, favourite sandals, a jacket and so-on. I'm a competent sewer and have done leatherwork before, but I don't have the right needles, thread and other tools. So i was delighted to receive this very comprehensive set with almost everything I need - I will still need some thin reinforcing leather.This set is great: three awls including a lockstitch awl; nine reels of waxed thread; a thimble, tape measure and snips; and a huge assortment of needles; along with a screwdriver and instructions for the lockstitch awl. In terms of quality, these might not meet the standards a professional leatherworker would require, but they all seem well-made and are certainly sufficient for the keen hobbyist.I've already used the kit to successfully restitch the zip on my favourite-but-aging purse and repair the strap of a handbag that I am very fond of where the thread had broken and unstitched itself.As a great believer in repair rather then replacement, this is a very useful kit, and will pay for itself very quickly when compaired with paying to get repairs done. Recommended!
