Picked up this ½-inch drive metric impact lug nut socket set for my husband who works full-time as a professional mechanic, and it’s been an excellent addition to his shop gear. This kit was exactly what I needed and solved my problem. My 2017 Jeep Renegade had 4 swollen lug bolts that had resisted all removal efforts (actually, all 20 were swollen, but I was able to get the first 16 off by other means). I was able to tap the 17.5 mm socket on, use a breaker bar, and get those last 4 off. Replaced all with solid lug bolts so I won't have the same problem again (who at Jeep can I mail these defective ones to so that maybe they'll realize what a bad design decision this was?).The knock out pin was also very helpful.I do have one complaint, and one bit of confusion about the product.The complaint is the colorful plastic sleeves on the sockets. They're cute, but they will likely crack the first time you use them (mine did). When you're dealing with swollen lug bolts that don't really fit any exact size, you're going to have to tap them on with a hammer. The plastic sleeves wrap around the end of the socket. Plastic does not hold up well to tapping. You could put the extension in and tap on that, but even then, the sleeve on the end of the socket that has been inserted towards the wheel can crack (mine did). The plastic sleeve is the only place where the size information is located. In hindsight, I will probably take a blade and trim the wrap over edge off to prevent further damage.The bit of confusion is in regards to the sizing. The purpose of this kit is to provide half size sockets to tackle swollen lugs. It has 17, 17.5, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 21 (x2), 21.5, 22 and 22.5 sizes. Why are there two 21's and no 18?

Lots of newer cars have capped lug nuts. After time salt finds it’s way between the stainless cap and nut causing the cap to swell.Most standard sockets won’t go over the nut.The 1/2 size usually will, sometimes you will need to tap them on lightly do not force them on just go up one more size.Then order one piece acorn nuts listed for your vehicle.

This set has a couple of versatile features which make it a worthwhile set to have; the first is that it is thin-walled and has an outer color-coded covering which can fit in spots to remove lug nuts on some rims where the clearances are tight. The second feature is that it has half sizes such as 18.5 which is useful when the lug nut is missing the outer cap.
