I've never trusted the look and feel of the Fluval FX series hoses so I replaced them with this hose.Had quite a plasticy smell too it so I have it a good rinse.The hose fits straight on to the FX isolation valves on the filter lid and the other end (outlet and inlet) fit perfectly.Great piece of mind as I've had a pinhole leak in the original hose which I was totally unaware of. It was my west highland terrier that could hear the high pitch noise as he was staring at the aquarium door, tilting his head. Could have been messy if he wasn't around. Anyway. A bit expensive for what it is but it's doing exactly what I purchased it for so all good.

Nice and rigid when used in conjunction with a transfer pump. Due to the reinforced design of the hose (internal spring wire) there were no flat spots of sagging when used.I would suggest some heavy duty jubilee clips for this when connecting to adapters, as it has a tendancy to expand a little when under high pressure.Update :The hse worked well when new, although after being stord in the garage over winter the hose has become that rigid and brittle that when I un-coiled it (with great resistance) it actually snapped.Very disappointed, waste of money if you hope to keep this for re-use.
