As a german living in the USA, this one is a popular item in my house. Yes, I could make it from scratch, but somehow my kids love this pre-packaged version. It's easy, fast, and delicious!

This dish was especially loved by children, in part because it appeals to their taste buds and in part for its quirky name. The name literally means either Emperor's mess or Emperor's nonsense. It is sort of a torn-up, fluffy pancake, dusted with confectioner's sugar and served with tart applesauce, prune, cherry or berry compote to counterbalance the dish's sweetness. I guess a dollop of whipped cream and a good cup of coffee on the side wouldn't hurt either. This mix helps take the guesswork out of the preparation and instructions are in English.
