De HM-18 is een verbeterde versie van de HM-10. De HM-18 gebruikt de CC2640R2F-chip van TI als master-IC.
In vergelijking met HM-10 is HM-18 een Bluetooth 5.0 BLE-module, heeft een snellere overdrachtssnelheid en een grotere MTU.

The manufacturer specs give a reference to the AT commands but not enough info to actually do much with them. I found another source of info and with that I was able to set up a beacon using a tty terminal. The BT device thus works. I bought it to do some learning and exploration with this kind of BT-LE device.Todo: figure out how to scan for BT devices, pair, etc. using the AT commands.I am using it together with probably need to dig up some Arduino examples.

This is a good Bluetooth module, but unfortunately it doesn't support most of Bluetooth 5.0 features – no Coded PHY 125/500 kbps for long range comm, no 2mbps mode, no extended advertisements. So it's essentially a Bluetooth 4 with additional. Basically the chip itself (CC2640R2F) supports all of those, but these features are not implemented in the firmware so you won't be able to access them.

Lo programé con Arduino y lo pude conectar con Android e iOS. Importante, no pude cambiar la contraseña del módulo que es del 1 al 9.Es de buena construcción, los pines son duros, y la carcasa de plástico que trae le da más resistencia.Estoy muy contento con ese modulo

La compré para no tener que enchufar la placa con el usb al ordenador y así tener una cierta independencia a la hora de mover por ejemplo un coche o cualquier dispositivo y la verdad es que funciona correctamente hay que instalar una pequeña aplicación por el uso es bastante fácil
