Compared with the solid brass ones we bought, which are very nice, but did cost £2.10 each, with carriage, at 18.5p each, with no carriage , in comparison these are really great value.The have a bright shiny brass finish, which looks just as good as the solid brass ones, and grip and fit perfectly on the picture rails, even better than those in solid brass.Ok maybe the brass plating may eventually come, but if so they are easily and cheaply replaced. It is anyway unlikely any loss of the plating will be noticed and by then I doubt I will care.

These picture rail hooks look good, and seem to be good quality (for example they are all a perfectly identical shape) and are definitely an excellent price compared to what you will find in a hardware shop.However the spiky feet at the back of the hooks I received basically end up horizontal when there is any weight on the hook, because the shape is not curved enough. This means that the spikes, which should loop over the rail and down the back to hold them in place, do not actually go behind the picture rail at all and instead balance on the top - and that means they fall off very, very easily. I had to bend them to make them fit, which is disappointing because my bending skills are not as consistent as the machine that made the hooks, so they are all different now. I get the feeling these were perfectly made to an accurate design without ever seeing what a picture hook is supposed to do :-)Three stars because they are well made, well priced, and well packed. 2 stars off because they don't fit very well without help...

Super useful! From the side, the top of the hook is basically a semicircle 2.5cm in diameter, which comes down at the spiky end at about a 70 degree angle from the horizontal. Was pleasantly surprised at how many of the rails it fit around my room. I haven't tried hanging anything heavy on it though - it's been posters and fairy lights so far, but they seem fairly sturdy. A pack of 20 is more than enough, but they're so useful I've started using them in so many places I'm about to run out!
