This review is for Duttek USB C to USB Adapter 10Gbps 120W, USB Type C Female to USB Male Adapter, USB C to USB 3.2 Adapter with OTG for i-Phone, Galaxy, MacBook, AirPods, i Pad, Car (2 Pack)I received this to review as part of the Amazon vine program.This is a set of two usb adapters. I think they they look quite retro with the transparent plastic so you can see the inner workings. I find these adapters handy as am currently converting all of my cables to usb c but still have some charging plugs that have the usb a ports, so this lets me access them. I am very happy with these.

I tried both of these adapters in the USB-A port of my laptop, I was expecting to see data speeds of up to 5Gb/s because my laptop only supports those speeds (or so I thought), instead it brought my laptop to a crawl.I couldn't perform a CrystalDiskMark speed test, it was taking too long, even on the smallest file size, so I just did a straightforward copy from my laptop to an external SSD, the speed indicated by Windows was around 355KB/s, this is slower than USB 1.0 speeds.So, I naturally thought that this item was faulty, that was until I tried a few more external USB-C storage devices and their cables. It was only when I tried an external USB-C SSD memory stick, that I started to get some sensible results. After that, I was able to find an external SSD drive with a cable that not only worked, but produced data transfer speeds that I wasn't expecting from my laptop.I should maybe point out that the items that failed using these adapters, worked fine when connected directly to a USB-C port.These adapters allow you to charge devices that use the PD (power delivery) charging protocol, which normally requires chargers with USB-C ports from a QC protocol charger. The adapter converts the QC (quick charge) protocols normally found on chargers with USB-A ports into the PD protocols.I tested this using my 120W Xiaomi charger, my USB test meter reported no PD charging support without the adapter and support for PD3.0 charging at up to 45W power with the adapter.My Xiaomi charger is a dedicated charger for my Xiaomi 14 Ultra phone, so it may not give an accurate result for these adapters and I don't have a QC4.0 charger that can supply 100W (QC4.0 specifications), so I can't really test how much charging power this adapter will support using the PD protocol, but it claims to support 120W. Unfortunately, it also doesn’t specify a current rating, so it could be either 24V@5A or 20V@6A.I have knocked 1* off because of the compatibility issues that I experienced.

I upgraded my computer on a budget the new motherboard does have USB 3.2 but only one USB-C port unless I add a PCI-E x1 add-on card. I didn't want to do that so this adapter was the simplest solution. All I wanted to do was have the best of both worlds fast charge my phone from the computer and benefit from its maximum capable data transfer speeds with minimal fluctuation in speed and power.This little adapter provides a solution for both and has saved me some money plus it is backwards compatible so will work with USB 3.0 and earlier. This is great because I can plug it into my older desktop computers and laptop to take advantage of USB-C. Of course, older USB standards will only transfer at the speeds they are capable but charging is also an option again limited by hardware capability, still, it is better to have the option than not at all.For example, charging my Earbuds on USB 3.1 would be respectable but my phone would be painfully slow. There will be limitations even with USB 4 and it's further generations. So check the specifications of your hardware first, maybe for charging your PD charger will still be the best option, as for data transfer, these adapters will give you a USB-C port for the purpose at hand.Good value for a pack of two, don't mind if I do!

Great compact adapters for converting your USB-A to USB-C sockets. Being transparent you can see the mini circuit board within the adapter, there is a blue LED that lights up when plugged into a live socket. The adapters also have a small plastic hole, so if wished you can put it on a key ring etc. but no cord etc. is included. With a 120W power and 10Gbps data flow capacity these have a good specification making them suitable for most applications.
