Hard to do better than Ernie Ball

Finding the Power Slinky's for about $22 CDN to replace the stock D'Addario strings on my Ibanez SR305 was a Godsend because 5-string kits tend to be quite pricey ($60+ in some cases). They're also heavier than the D'Addario strings meaning they shouldn't be as soggy when down tuned, which is how our band plays all of our stuff.They're long enough to fit the 34" scale length of my bass with about 1.5-2" left over on the A string, which is the longest due to the configuration of the machine heads. They went on with no problems, and left me with a nice, bright sound that should stand out from the lead and rhythm guitars.Despite the heavier gauge they're pretty easy to bend, although the extra thickness and increased tension means there were some adjustments to make.While I like the feel of half rounds, the Power Slinky's fresh from the package do feel pretty nice compared to other strings that I've tried. The finger noise is there, but I found them to have less than D'Addario strings.Overall I'm very happy with them and feel that they offer great value for the price.

Can never go wrong with Ernie Ball strings, for guitar or bass, these are tight, great tone and last awhile
