Excellent unit for express enrichment of the wine taste. We are using similar product for many years. Decided to renew it and this wine aerator works good. Hope the rubber sealant part will not degrade in time soon.

PROS:1) INEXPENSIVE IMPROVES THE TASTE OF RED WINE2) EASY TO USE AND EASY TO CLEAN3) ANTI-DRIPCONS: NONE!Decanting wine is generally only necessary when the bottle is over 10 years old, Most wines sold in supermarkets are young wines and don’t need to be decanted necessarily. However, as you should let a bottle of red (young) stand for an hour or so to breathe after uncorking, this aerator means you can pour it straightaway. The introduction of air (oxygen) improves the aroma and thus the flavour. Notes become easier to discern, though remember, wine is about your personal preference and you should not listen to the nouveau types who think they know about wine. We all have different levels of degustatory (taste) sense and olefactory (smell) sense. These senses, taste and smell, change as we age, being less sensitive (it’s why if you ever taste beer when you’re a child it tastes disgusting. Sense of taste and smell diminishes not only with age, but also with eating spicy foods. That’s why really, the best accompaniment to a curry is not wine, or beer, but plain water.Don’t let the arty types who fake to fit in mock you or demean you because you can’t taste the chalky soil, or smell the woody note! If you like the way the wine tastes, that’s all that matters, after all, you’re paying for it. There is another reason to decant wine, but this is only an issue when wine is aged for 10 years or more. Solids start to form in red wine and end up as sediment in the bottle. This sediment actually tastes quite nasty. It’s therefore, necessary, to decant the wine either very carefully from the bottle or using a decanter with a broad body which gives a nice curve shoulder to trap the sediment. It’s all about technique, and the best sommeliers can decant straight from the bottle. This decanter is suitable ONLY for ventilating the wine, and will possibly make it harder if you’re decanting an old wine. However, I’m guessing if you’ve got some very nice wine you either have a nice crystal decanter or at very least a wine mesh funnel for the artless! If you’re not too much of a snob, you can get some absolutely top class wines in a particular German food retailer whose name begins with “A”. These are a fraction of what you’d pay for lesser wines from the big 4 supermarkets and what they’d cost you in a good restaurant (if there was no lockdown). As I said, wine is about your taste no one else’s so drink in moderation, enjoy and BUY THIS DECANTER, IT’S DOTTORE APPROVED!

Das Ding ist genial um aus der Weinflasche nur 1 Glas zu dekantieren. Hab es wieder mal als Geschenk gebraucht, besitze das Ding schon seit ein paar Jahren

About fifteen years ago I bought a wine aerator - then it seemed like something a bit out of the ordinary. It was used a couple of times before being consigned to the cupboard mainly because it was made of very thin and delicate glass and I was afraid of breaking it.Cheaper red wines in particular can be improved a little by means of aeration. This is what an aerator does - it simply is a quick way to add oxygen to wine to make it taste better. In the past, some may have had decanters for the same purpose - a slow method of achieving the same result and, for what it's worth, decanters can be picked up very cheaply now in antique and bric-a-brac shops should the original method appeal to you.But there are now lots of wine aerators available and if you'd prefer a faster method, this ecooe wine aerator is worth a try. It's very simple to use - just insert it into the top of your bottle, then pour. You'll see the bubbles in the wine - formed as it passes through a series of holes in the device. If you're keen to try aerating your wine this might be a good place to start. One thing I really like about this device is the feel and quality of the item. The clear acrylic is clearly high grade and the collar is stainless steel. It looks good and feels well balanced in the hand, while being robust and easy to clean with a rinse under the tap. If you're looking for a reasonably priced gift for wine lovers, this aerator is worth considering and comes smartly packaged in a chic black box. Take a look at other similar offerings and you'll see the price is pretty good too.
