We bought 3 helmets, Edelrid Shield II, Petzl Boreo and BD Vector. BD Vector did not fit me, my son, or my nephew well. So at 3 times the price of the Edelrid and $35 more than the Petzel, we saw not reason to keep that one. The Edelrid fit my son perfectly and the build quality, weight, & comfort are excellent. My quibbles are that the piece that straddles the ears is just too short (no adjustment possible), and for me anyways rubs against the bottom of my ears -- not uncomfortable so much as annoying. Not an issue for my son, so your mileage may vary. The other quibble is the chin latch which is a bit fiddly. The Boreo fit myself and my nephew best. It is just as comfortable and easy to adjust as the Edelrid without the issues described above, despite the fact that there is also no adjustment that can be made to the ear straddles on the Boreo either. Regardless Petzl got the fixed length right. This was a fit-first decision and I would recommend both the Boreo and the Edelrid.

Light and fit big heads. It feels super safe as it really kind of grabs your head. I have dreadlocks and is one of the few helmets that fits properly.I'm and experienced climber and use it for sport and trad. Wear a helmet!.... the only reason not to do it is to look cooler in the pics.... that's silly.I'm not giving it 5 stars as would rather that the system that holds your head (sorry, do not know the name and English is obiosusly not my first language) was made from rubber, as the new Meteor from Petzl, and not from plastic. It needs to bent a lot and rubber seems like a better option to me....
