This smoke alarm was bought following online advice from the company who make them. I already had 2 of their alarms in the house and needed one to put in our lounge (+ a heat alarm in our kitchen). This alarm is battery powered and should last 10 years. It has a radiolink module within it, which has its own battery. It might mean replacing one of the components (module or alarm into which it is installed) before the other. Time will tell. My extended system means that if one alarm sounds then they ALL sound. This is to follow new regulations coming into effect in Scotland in February 2022. In England similar regulations are already effective I believe. Follow the instructions in the booklets provided regarding positioning and orientation of the alarm and drill holes to take the plastic plugs (provided). If a plasterboard ceiling I would suggest using a slightly smaller drill than the 5mm one they suggest. Perhaps 4.8mm. Then push the plugs in and screw the base plate on using the 2 screws (also supplied). House code the alarm following the instructions and twist the alarm onto the base plate. Test that the system works and all alarms sound and that is it - apart from regular testing of course. I would highly recommend this company's products. They have a wide number of models, so check what you need to follow your country's regulations. Going onto their website and having a live chat meant I could find out quickly what I needed, as there are various series of alarms which are made for varying circumstances, and could bamboozle you as to what you really need. Lots of other brands are available. They may be cheaper, but I have had 18 years experience of having aico brand alarms in my house with no problems. Overall keep you and your family safe with reliable products such as these.

Nach 10 Jahren habe ich die alten Rauchmelder ersetzt. Von 8 Meldern im ganzen Haus habe ich an kritischen Stellen 3 mit Funkvernetzung angebracht.Gegenüber den Vormodellen muss man jetzt lange auf dem Knopf bleiben, und erst wenn der Alarm sehr laut wird, reagieren auch die beiden anderen. Finde ich besser als vorher, als sie schon beim ersten Druck mitreagiert haben.Wenn sie - wie die Vorgänger - wieder 10 Jahre halten, bin ich sehr zufrieden. Das Anbringen war auch einfach, da ich einfach die alten Halterungen verwenden konnte
