I was using a baking dish by another, very well-regarded company that did not meet the product specifications. To my dismay, I discovered that the other baking dish could not withstand a 450 degree oven. It virtually exploded. In spite of this unfortunate experience, I was intent on replacing the flawed product and did a great deal of research, including Amazon reviewers.I chose the EH baking dish finally, based in large part on the Amazon description of the item and in spite of a poor review based on the outside dimensions of the baking dish and not the inside dimensions. With all due respect to the negative review, I ordered the baking dish. It has turned out to be all that was promised in the item description: size (inside as well as outside measurements); heat range (up to 520 degrees) it can withstand; durability and scratch resistance; range of use (oven to freezer); and easy clean (yes!); high-fired Burgundy clay; and a scratch-resistant extremely hard glaze. The sides and bottom of the baking dish also are much thinner and, therefore, lighter in weight than most other baking dishes of the same type. Finally, the price is more than reasonable for this item. Good cookware costs more because it IS good!Weaknesses? At this point I cannot find one weakness. I love fine cookware (I use only All-Clad, Creuset, et.), and the Emil Henry baking dish fits more than satisfactorily into that category.

This is a nice size well made dish. It bakes what is in very evenly and cleans up really well. It is nice to have a product made in France. You can feel the quality of this dish. It came nicely packaged so no damage during shipping.
