Zuerst war ich skeptisch, da ich Flatwoundstrings von meinem Fretless her kannte (Gallistrings Jazz). Und die sind haptisch einfach toll, außerdem keine Quietschgeräusche und absolut griffbrettschonend. Sie klingen aber eben jazzig und kontrabassmäßig. Mein Hauptbass ist aber ein bundierter 5-Saiter Stingray und ich wollte ihm und mir etwas Gutes tun. Ich liebäugelte schon länger mit Flatwounds, habe mich aber lange nicht getraut. Dann hatte ich in einem Forum gelesen, dass diese Slinky-Flatwounds durchaus Brillianz haben, sich gut anfühlen und sich nicht ins Griffbrett fressen. Also habe ich die 60,- investiert - und es nicht bereut! Der Sound war eine absolute Überraschung. Sie haben nicht ganz die glatte Oberfläche, gut, aber dafür klingen sie auf meinem Bundierten absolut brilliant und knackig. Egal, ob Picked oder Fingered gespielt. Sie sind teuerer, halten aber dafür ewig, wenn man sie regelmäßig reinigt (ich benutze Fastfret). Meine Empfehlung: Unbedingt ausprobieren! Ich werde auf jeden Fall auch meinen Fretless-Bass damit ausstatten.

Justo el sonido que buscaba en un precision bass, me encantó el brillo, sonido poderoso si lo que buscas es heavy metal, solo queda esperar cuanto dura el brillo, por ahora la primer semana quedé fascinado, llegaron en perfecto estado.

It sticks a little to your fingers but It causes more punchy tone when you release It with your fingertips.Tone;This string is more responsive to your tone pot than any other Flatwounds too because of being flexible like roundwounds and magnetic speciality of Cobalt. Most ''vintage'' ''oldschool'' flatwounds sounds almost same with full tone or zero tone settings. But when you roll your tone pot off with this strings, It's as same as those old counterparts but when you roll It up, you get crispy presence, great low mid and punchy basses. Anything you do with your tone pot reflects unbelievably well with this strings. You get a huge pallete of in your face sounds with these strings that you had no idea of beforehand.Conclusion;I read this exactly at few other comments ''If this was the only strings I could pick, I would be happy with It.'' It's versatile but not ''trick of all trades and master of none'', It is a high quality monster at every style and tone option.
