Using another manufacturer's cover, I lost both AirPods and the charging case when I ran to catch a bus. I didn't even notice until I went to use the AirPods and discovered only the cover hanging from my belt loop.In this version, the cover fits much more snugly to the case, even before you apply the adhesive strip that gives the top half extra grip. The extra "snap" of the magnetic closure gives me confidence that the AirPods won't just slip away while I'm not paying attention, but not so much that I can't readily access them. I like that the cover adds very little bulk to the case while allowing me to use the carabiner to clip to my belt loop. (I had thought of going even more minimal and just using a lanyard, but that allows too much swing to be comfortable walking, and does not provide any security against the case opening when bumped.)

Magnets help keep the lid closed. The case is held in place by adhesive, which shouldn’t affect the AirPod case should it need to be removed. My old case was very flimsy feeling and would come off. That is not the scenario with this case protector.

It durable. I’ve dropped case a few times and it’s all intact not scratch. And the style is sleek.
