I was a bit dubious about these when I saw them at first. The webbing strap is thinner than I'm used to (presumably so it can be wound up into the spool), but actually there doesn't seem to be any diminution of their strength. I've put them under considerable stress and they're holding up very well.I have used them a few times now and have to say the convenience of just being able to ratchet the whole spare length into the spool is absolutely brilliant - it would be difficult now to go back to the old type where you have to somehow tie own and make safe the long lengths of unused strapping. And the straps are quite generous - I'd say they extend out to about 2 and a half meters. I've never had to find or fashion extensions.I recently carried 30 full sheets of 18mm MDF using these to fix them to the bed of a flatbed truck. The cargo stayed safe and secure for the 70 mile journey (don't ask why I'm transporting MDF sheets 70 miles!).I've used them to hold stuff in the back of my car (with the hatch tied half shut) and to tie a roof box onto a roof rack (not mine - original/proper fixings are lost, apparently). A friend borrowed them to transport a quad bike on a flat bed. These ratchet straps coped with all this admirably.I haven't suffered any entanglements - the straps pull out and retract smoothly and easily - I may have to explore further but the only minor downside is that once pulled out the only way the straps can be retracted back onto the spool for storage is to slowly ratchet them back in (tip: keep the strap under tension when doing this). The ratchet handle is super-comfortable to use - nice and big with good leverage.I think these are incredibly well made, compared to others I have (and have cut off and thrown away in the past cos they've tangled up and become impossible to get off!!). The hooks on the ends of the straps are super-heavy-duty! I think these will last a lifetime and because of this they're probably good value - they are a little bit spendy but you get 4 of them and they're probably the last ones you'll buy.

I will never go back to old ratchet straps! The retractable straps are a game changer! Now you can keep your straps organized!

These are some heavy duty ratchet straps. The ratchet mechanism works better than any straps I've ever used before. The straps stay aligned and retract neatly unlike other brands I've used. I've had some in the past that have jammed up so bad I've had to cut the strap to get them off. These feel very high quality like they will last a very long time.

Like them very much highly recommend transported my motorbike across country with no loosening
