I have used this floor protector on three occasions with mixed results. It all depends on the floor surface. On a laminated wood surface that has not been oiled or waxed after installation it adheres well and stays in place. Not so with a floor that has been treated as it is difficult to stick down and, if it does initially, will loosen while working. This is not a fault of the product, just the wrong choice for the flooring. So if used on a suitable surface it a brilliant product, adheres well and is relatively resistant to damage but if it is holed it can be resealed with masking tape. I use blue masking tape to cover gaps around doors and skirting which sticks easily to its surface and stays in place throughout. In use it is so easy to brush and up plaster debris, etc., with a dust pan as you work. Paint drips are easily seen and wiped off. When laying, do not discard the cardboard tubes it comes rolled in.When finished decorating roughly sweep up debris and use the cardboard tubes to lift off the floor by rolling back onto the tubes (sticking side to the outer side). As a result you trap any dust and do not end up with loads of loose bulky plastic waste. No adhesive residue remains on the surface as it is more like a dry tack that clings and does not stick to your hands.Quite expensive to cover a floor and single use but well worth it if you are a messy decorator like me.

This is a good product and good value for money. I used it on bare floorboards to protect them when pulling ceilings down. It was not completely adhesive and I had to use duct tape as well, but the floor surface was not ideal and I can imagine this sticking much better to a finished floor. I really liked the design with the sticky side on the outside which makes it easy to roll out. It protected the floor extremely well and was easy to clear up.This arrived very well packaged. Do not do what my husband did and cut the packing with a Stanley knife - he cut the roll which was very annoying.

So this is a less tacky/sticky version of the Everbuild's carpet protector () designed for hard surfaces. We had mixed results with this product versions the carpet protector. First and foremost...relax, take a deep breath and go to your happy place before using this product. It is basically a cling film-sized roll of strong packing tape. Yes...just like cling film and packing tape...it will stick to itself. If this happen just give it a strong tug to unstick it, in our experience the protector was strong enough to take it without tearing.Now...results. On our polished tiles, this product work great. It stuck nicely to floor, didn't move and protected it. Great. However, on our hardwood floor the results were less than great. The problem I think was two fold. First the floor was new so there was a bit of sawdust left from installation (it had been vacuumed but not damp moped yet). Second, the finish wasn't shiny, it was a satin/matte finish (if that makes sense). The floor protector just couldn't get a good grip. It would either weakly hold to the floor or completely wouldn't hold to the floor. We ended up cutting up cardboard boxes and using those instead.

We used this to cover all round the edges of a room on an oak floor. There is a knack to laying it down, and it is easier with two people. It is low tack so you need a lot of contact with the floor to stop it moving, so the first bit is tricky, and easier if someone else stands on it where you start. The recommended broom technique worked well, once the start is down you push the roll out and smooth it with the broom as you go, the more you walk on it and brush it onto the floor the better it sticks. Once down all around and walked on regularly it seemed to stick down much better. It was hard to get a perfect edge without a gap, so we used a strip of masking tape to cover any gap between the Roll & Stroll and the skirting. It was much better for working on and putting you steps on that lumpy dust sheets, and no chance or stray gaps appearing. It is still in place, so will update on how well it lifts , but I don't think it will be an issue. It can't be reused of course, so rather wasteful, so we only used it around the edges of the room. I can imaging that a less smooth surface would be more difficult to get it to stay put.

Another great bargain from Amazon and 25% cheaper than local DIY stores. The plastic is similar to cling film but quite a bit thicker and the film sticks to most rigid flat surfaces like laminate and tiled floors etc. This film is a lot better than plastic sheets that tend to move around unless they are taped down and installation is as simple as lining up the roll of film with the skirting board and rolling it out from behind.
