I purchased this Audient Evo 8 interface after doing a ton of research to replace my old Motu M8.This unit has some serious quality-of-life aspects worth considering. First, the build quality is excellent. The control knob is an excellent feature, allowing you to control several parameters beyond just master volume. It's very intuitive and it syncs with your DAW and OS seamlessly.Admittedly, the auto-gain feature was low on my priority list (if you know how to set gain it's a no-brainer). But it's absolutely worth considering, the ease and convenience of being able to hit one button and set levels for all channels on-the-fly is incredible! It's such a simple feature, but don't overlook it! It helps a ton to keep you focused on the creative process and less time sound designing when you're working on material.I'm a huge fan of the 1/4in guitar input on the front of the unit. It's powered by a JFET as a preamp, so gain staging is true-to-form with other high quality JFET amplifiers (think Orange amps, Quilter, etc) and in my opinion is a criminally overlooked feature. I didn't realize how much my DI tone was lacking until I plugged into the 1/4 guitar in jack and heard my guitar come to life with ease.Additionally, the headphone out's on the front of the unit are just as incredible as the 1/4in in! I'm not sure what Audient uses as a preamp, but this unit absolutely brings my high impedance headphones to life with crisp highs and articulate low-midrange.In comparison to other interfaces I've used in the past (Motu, Focusrite, M-Audio), the impression I got from Audient's entry-level Evo interface has impressed me so much that I plan on using strictly Audient interfaces from here on out. There's something about the quality of preamps that they used, coupled with the seamless integration with my various DAW's and across operating systems that makes me wish that I knew about Audient sooner. Can't recommend this product enough, for beginner and professional.

Seller shipped a great product thats shipped and delivered timely.Product was able to register on Audient website without issue.Came in its own box within a larger amazon box. The outer box wasn't quite well packaged but I don't think thats on the seller.Evo8 has a pretty clear mic pre-amp. Combo trs/xlr mic inputs that work pretty well. Encoder knob has a tactile bump thats well designed. Controls are fairly easy to navigate around.Included software controls is quite good(for the most part) but can be confusing. Allows control over device quickly and save setting in app. However the app is only for mac and windows.Downside is that the mic pre-amp may need to be maxed out on some condenser mics. mine needs to be put near 75-80%.Only 2 channels can have phantom power on USB-A cable. If USB-C to USB-C then it will be allowed tk draw for all 4 channels.It is also unable to save settings on device itself so you will need to adjust it everytime.No -20db pad also. Its also made of plastic shell but has no flex in it whatsoever. A great product nonetheless.

✅ What an amazing piece of kit. I bought the EVO 8 for the convenience of not always having or wanting to turn on my main mixing desk and make a big thing out of it when all I want to do it get cracking with a project, and this allows me that. I literally plug it into my MacBook Air and away we go.Smartgain is a sensational feature that I wish I had decades ago. I like to record myself playing the guitar and singing simultaneously, and the big green button cuts out any guesswork when all I want to do is just start. It listens to me play and sing for 15 seconds and then it sets the levels on all of the mics separately, so all I then have to do is click the record button, amazing, but I can change them manually if I want to, but so far I've no need because the recordings have been perfect.The software is also extremely helpful. There's not much to it, which is great! ...which then automatically routes into my DAW. You will have to assign the four inputs to the accompanying tracks, but that takes 20 seconds. Done.However, there was one issue that occurred which was instantly fixed. After unplugging the device for the very first time, the playback in my DAW was slow whereupon I was given an error message: "Error while trying to synchroniseAudio and MIDI. Sample Rate 16,114 recognised. Check conflict between (your DAW name) and external device". All I did to fix the issue was plug the EVO 8 device back into the USB-C port, play the song which was normal again, and then unplug it. Done. I've not had a problem since. I don't know why this happened - it could have been me or it could have been the manufacturer (Audient), but it was a 20 second fix and it's nothing to worry about. It may not even happen to you, but it was worth my mentioning just in case.Listen, I could go on about this product for ages, but just take it from someone who has a recording studio with many toys and says that the EVO 8 is a mini-workhorse which simplifies the recording process. It has been the best £139 I have spent on recording gear. Buy it.
