Easier than last year but great fun!

One of my siblings bought another advent calendar (The Silent Storm) from the company last year and my then-6-year-old absolutely loved it. We decided it should be a yearly tradition and were excited to do this one for 2024!Each day you read a little snippet of the story, then open a door to reveal the puzzle. Depending on the day, puzzles usually took about 2-5 minutes, though a few tricky ones took longer.The puzzles are beginner level, so good for most older children, teens, or adults who are not big into puzzles. I had to give my kid clues fairly often, and there is a hint book with three levels of clues for each day, which helps to steer you in the right direction if you're stumped, without making it too simple. There was 1 or 2 where we did end up looking at all three of the hints, as well as one unfortunate time where we misinterpreted a hint and ended up revealing something for a different day, which spoiled the later puzzle. There's no good way to warn which puzzle without a spoiler though.The story for this advent calendar is movie-themed, with tons of fun references and puzzles related to lots of classic movies. Overall, great experience and highly recommended!

I liked it a lot! This is my first calendar from EXIT, and I was surprised about how much I loved it. I liked how the riddles were created, it was really fascinating to solve everything.

I love these, I get a different one for my family every year and we love working out the puzzles together. Great bonding experience for the family and something different other than chocolate to look forward to. They are really well thought out, put together and detailed. The story element is always great. I would say don't buy this for one person or kids / teens to do alone. The puzzles and clues are harder then you think so it needs some adult input to work things out. Some questions we get really quickly, others we grt stumped on and my husband and I have to really put our heads together to reason it out. That's part of the fun though!! Working together. My son likes the easier doors and we'll always explain how we work things out. He's fitting good at escape room stuff now. He is also fully incharge of putting in the code to unlock the next room.So yeah - Great activity, do as a family (kids alone will struggle), for people who love a challenge and an amazing Christmas adventure to boot. Strongly recommend.
