The product came well packaged and in time .no instructions are with this item but if you pop online on you tube you can easily find a video to show you how to correctly fit it.I found it easy to fit .

So I bought two of these. I needed one and thought it would be good to keep a spare on hand. I knew from other reviews I had to search for install videos on YouTube (these just come in a tiny plastic baggie by themselves, no instructions) so I did that. Followed along and got the plastic bar out. Worked off my broken lock. This is where everything went south. There are two plastic pieces that need to fit together through a hole. They have a groove/ridge system that needs to be fit together before snapping the two pieces together which none of the videos showed me. So I struggled with that for a bit. When I finally realized, I got the two pieces lined up properly and actually snapping them together was super tough for me. The spring on the first replacement lock I used somehow managed to break on install. So I grabbed my spare and went through struggling to snap them together again only for the new lock to somehow break and break the tiny little plastic peg on my tank with it. The little peg is crucial for any lock to work, and now it’s gone. The spring on the lock needs to be fit over this little peg for the lock to work at all. Now I have a tank that can’t lock. Also worth noting you likely won’t get through this procedure without marring the black plastic parts around the lock on your tank in some way. You’ve got to use some kind of tool to pop off the old broken lock and this is where you end up scratching or cracking the black plastic parts of the tank. Overall a poor experience and now I have two returns to make along with a permanently broken tank. Thanks Exo Terra.
