Justo lo que andaba buscando. Perfecta par recuperar un CD/DVD grabador de un Pc obsoleto, dándole otra vida de uso. Se conecta a un PC Windows ó Mac y ya tiene una grabadora externa. Muy contento.

This thing is barely usable, and not recommended for anyone with little knowledge or patience; There are no instructions.There is no indication whether you need to open the case to install the drive (you don’t), or whether you can use it with the original faceplate from your old drive (I couldn’t).You simply push the drive into the case without opening it (in the correct orientation) until the connector at the back of the drive engages with the connector in the case. There is nothing else to hold the drive in the case.With my original faceplate left on, the drive appeared to go in but didn’t work. It turns out that it won’t go in far enough to engage the internal connector unless you switch the old faceplate out for the thin and flimsy one that comes with the case.Getting the faceplate off the old DVD drive is a very fussy matter of releasing small, fragile and stubborn plastic clips. To even get to the clips, you need to push a small wire or a paperclip into the tiny round hole in the faceplate to open the drive.Putting the flimsy new cover on didn’t work as shipped, since a small plastic peg on the back didn’t line up with the hole on the drive. I snipped off the peg to make it work.With the thin faceplate mounted, the drive went in far enough for the faceplate to be flush, and for the drive to engage with the connector, and everything worked.The cable is a bit short, can’t be disconnected or replaced, and it makes a sharp bend, but at least it comes with both USB A & C connectors. And it accepted my old 12.7mm drive.Confusingly, the sticker on the back says “Power Supply: DC 5V”, but there’s no place to plug in a power supply. Fortunately, mine seems to work fine on USB power alone.Given the above, even the low price seems to high, and it would be annoying at any price. Unless you are a fan of frustration and poor quality just stay away.
