The carbon fiber sheet sold by FAKILO has a nice finish on both sides and is the size that is advertised. The surfaces are protected with a plastic film. The edges appear somewhat rough when you receive the material, but that roughness is from the protective film. The whole 200x300x1mm sheet weighs only 90 grams (3 oz.).Carbon fiber sheet is a wonderful material for making lightweight parts for projects. It is strong and very rigid for its thickness. You can cut it by hand, or with a scroll saw, but cutting it with a CNC router is much easier. You want to make sure that you are wearing a respirator and full goggles and have good ventilation in your work area. I would also wear gloves and a long-sleeved shirt. The particles when you cut this material are very small and very irritating, especially if you breathe it in or get it in your eyes. The dust goes everywhere, so some type of collection system helps. The material doesn’t cut well with a laser-cutter, but its surface can be engraved with a reasonable degree of success.I will use this in some of my robot projects.

I got this to cut out washers for the posts on a pinball machine that I am restoring. When I first opened the package, I was extremely excited, because I thought that I might have ordered absolutely stunning blue carbon fiber by mistake. Reality kicked in fairly quickly and I remembered that this fiber came with a plastic protective sheet on it, so I pealed back a corner and was pleasantly surprised by the finish on this sheet. The finish is nice and glossy, and I almost feel bad using such quality carbon fiber as a washer where it will hardly be visible.The sheet has a very consistent weave and finish that makes this a good choice for projects where you want durability but also want the ability to show off that beautiful carbon fiber weave and look. I did not want to destroy the sheet, but I did flex it pretty hard and accidentally dropped it when it snapped back to shape. The sheet displayed the rigidity you would expect from carbon fiber, but really impressed me when the corner that hit the floor did not chip, crack, or shatter. I am now trying to decide whether to use this for washers, or whether I should use it in a way that its strength and beauty can be on display.If you are looking for a carbon fiber sheet that is ready to go, then this is a great choice. Additionally, the price ($18.99 at time of review) is low enough that you can afford to make a mistake or two, without having to take out a loan to afford it.

I did several, what I would call "Tests" on the sheet I received.First I tried cutting thru it with a knife. After about ten minutes of scribing with a knife blade I was unable to penetrate all the way thru, that would represent a good condition against rubbing and gouging wear.Drilling was not a problem and cutting with normal tools is not difficult, so molding should not be any problem.I checked mounting by using some "pop" rivets that I was also testing against a steel bracket. It did splinter after heavy folding with the expanding end on th CF end, if the test was reversed the test would be come out different, because the rivets did not expand correctly and just bulged the end (you can read my review on that)So, this stuff is tough, it works well as a heat shield. It works as a barrier. It can work as a mounting bracket or a deflector and so many other things. I like this product and it gets my stamp of approval (STAMP)GOOD BUY Good Bye

Very good quality, uniform thickness and smooth surface protected by plastic film until used. The balance of strength and low weight is unmatched by any other mass-accessible material, and this sheet of carbon fiber looks very well made, evenly weaved and flawless.For how tough carbon fiber is, harnessing its benefits is tough too: cutting and forming it into whatever part is intended is more difficult to do than with traditional materials. For this thin sheet, the thinness and fiber distribution seem to make it more amenable to cutting. I am just experimenting with it before committing to actual use, and it is magical how much strength this material packs.
