This is my first trangia style stove so I'm no Ray Mears. That being said these are a great bit of kit for sorting a hot meal or drink when outdoors. Super easy to use and really efficient on fuel and very effective for cooking. The stove is capable of putting out a decent flame and can boil water pretty quickly. The kit has a decent pot stand and simmer lid however some of the edges on this are a little sharp so caution is needed. Overall for the price you pay this is great to have as a back up or something you would use occasionally when camping. It's simple design with nothing to really break means it should last a long time. It's a winner.

Kind of hard to go wrong with a spirit burner. The pot stand is a bit of a disappointment but not enough for me to lower my rating. I'll probably never use the pot stand again and go with my box stove instead since that would also function as a bit of a wind break but overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

A component in an ultra light ultra compact cooking system. Except the support ring does not support small pots. Who is going to carry a kettle. You need to get cross supports if you want to use a billy size pot. I first tried 99% isopropyl alcohol. Did not bloom well. Then I tried methylated spirits and this worked well. Going to try bioethanol next. I wanted to try an alcohol stove but compared with a small gas stove its a bit of a faff. Doubt I'll ever use the alcohol stove as long as I have gas
