The fans were not mounted properly and got loose in the case. So during shipping they rattled around and ravaged the SAS backplane, taking off several capacitors and bending fan headers. The box was looking good and unscaved. Looks like a factory error where they didn't get properly mounted or checked. Also the whole case was warped and bent, making it hard/impossible to remove most of the drive trays. Not great.....no QA?I wanted to finish my project so i ordered another one, since this is practically the only somewhat affordable new server case available in EU that fits 24 drives. This time i ordered it from a different shop, not Amazon. It got dropshipped by UPS to me directly from the distributor. I noticed the same UPS label and origin adress on the box as i got with the Amazon lemon. I think Amazon has it ship to them and reships after - making for more (rough) handling.So the one i got this time was OK. The fans were still loose in the case, but there was much less damage on the backplane. Just a few bent fan headers but all capacitors were intact. And who needs 24 fan headers on the backplane - there is no use for those. So i built my new NAS and its working fine. The backplane isnt that bad if all components are still on it after shipping: it works well.The positioning of the rails is stupid. It makes the case take up 5U instead of 4U because they are 1 cm too low. Easily preventable by drilling the screw holes higher or lower - no extra manufacturing cost. The problem with the loose fans could be easily solved by just securing them with cable wraps for shipping, so they won't rattle around if the mounting fails.I found this case on Alibaba, where it is available for about 200 euro if you want to wait for very long shipping. Actually less than 180 euro and a custom logo if you order more than 50 units, for example if you are Fantec in Germany just importing and distributing. And thats what i feel it should be sold for: about 250 euro in EU would make a more fair price.

I received a new one, no scratch. Apparently my model is Fantec SRC-4240X07-12G but no manual provided. I had to search for the manual and I hope I ordered correctly the cables SFF-8643. The plastic on the bays seems a bit cheap. I'm very happy that I will build my new NAS, geeting rid of small PCs running OMV. I recommend this product. Thanks

I bought 2, got 2 broken cases.The first was severely damaged in a way that could only have happened OUT of the box, so that was a problem even before someone packed it.The second one had broken components internally. One fan came loose and knocked transistors off of the backplane, this could have happened during transport.

La caja viene perfectamente preparada para alojar 24 discos ya sean de 2.5" o de 3.5", conectables mediante tarjetas RAID o similares.Muy buena compra y espero la recepción de stocks para pedir 2 unidades más.

Super case. There was 1 chasi fan that had a bad quickconnect but with a little tinkering that was solved

Il primo prodotto che avevo comprato era arrivato con alcune parti interne libere che avevano danneggiato la backplane degli HDD. Ho contattato Fantec e mi han detto di fare reso.Il secondo é arrivato con lo stesso problema di "shipping packaging" ma non aveva recato danni, inoltre mi é arrivata una revisione piú nuova del case. Come prodotto in se é molto valido ma a mio parere il prezzo troppo alto per quello che offre.

Got this to replace an old one that was only 16 bay.Nice case, plenty of room for motherboard. ( more space than an E-ATX motherboard needs.Fans are very noisy, either get a speed controller or buy some noctua fans.

This is a "good enough" server case with a fully functional backplane. I am fully satisfied with most parts, except for the fans. The fans are terrible. They sound a lot, and they dont push enough air. Also the fan holders are of bad quality plastic and they were broken during shipment. In overall the product was not packed good either.I swapped out the fans for NOCTUA fans, and now everything is great and silent.I recommend the case for any home server (Using UNRAID, PLEX server and more) but in a home environment where silence is expected, you need to swap the fans.
