NO 662k voltage regulator = unreliable if you use battery to power your systemit has NE555 Timer chip instead of TL555 timer chip= readings are unreliable if you have less than 4.5vMissing 1Mohm resistor which makes the readings extremly slow.Basically this is the worst sensor of the capacitor kind you can buy.

I bought these ridiculously enough, not for soil moisture at all, but for leak detection in my loft after a small leak developed. also to find out when the insulation had dried out. I thought it was a bit of a gamble, because there were quite a few bad reviews, which maybe were for older models. The unit I have used so far had no missing components as per some other reviews, but does include the NE555 timer. Initially I pulled my hair out trying to get it to work, using a Wemos d1 mini, esphome, home assistant and chatgpt for help with coding, I just wasnt getting correct anything. Eventually after some research online and fine tuning of the code I started getting readings, which I would suggest you make sure your microcontroller has a decent power cable, I think that may have been a part problem for mine.Running on 3.3v, I did testing in a glass of water and air, getting output voltages of 0.256v - 0.605v. Thats the analogue output range 0.256v being wet and 0.605v being dry. Tested and verified on the one I was using, which has been in my loft for a week, reporting in to Home assistant a raw voltage value of 0.605v, which is about 6% moisture. Seems about right for insulation that was drying out.I guess I'd probably give it full stars if it actually came with any information on the device packet like operating voltage and expected output voltage, but I have something that works. Time will tell if all of them work ok.

As leituras são muito tentas e o sensor não funciona corretamente com 3.3v como diz o anúncio! Após ler na Internet, percebe-se que esse sensor é modificado para ser mais barato. Me sinto enganado!

Three components incorrect: NE555 timer instead of TL555 -> does not work at 3.3VThe 662k voltage regulator is missing, so the readings are unreliable if you use batteryThe 1MOhm resistor is not connected, so recharging time takes very long.Don't buy.
