I have problematic skin, so I constantly need to protect myself even from weak sunlight. I used to wear UV-protective shirts, but a hoodie provides better protection. At first, I was unsure whether to buy a generic brand or invest significantly more in a hoodie from a reputable brand, but I opted to give this one a shot. I can't claim that it offers 100% protection from harmful UV rays since I haven't seen any research certification. However, I've worn it a few times in sunny weather, and everything is fine—I didn’t get sunburned as expected. The material is nice to the touch, and the size is okay, though it's a bit tight on me (I'm 175 cm tall and usually choose M). It lacks a drawstring to tighten the hood, which is a minor downside, but what’s not quite okay is that the hoodie makes me sweat even in cool weather, which isn’t ideal. While I don’t regret the purchase, next time, to be more certain about the protective properties, I’ll opt for a hoodie with certified UV-blocking effectiveness.

Bought for climbing this summer, fabric is a little thicker than I expected but it's this will undoubtedly hold up better in chimneys. Fabric feels good next to skin, thumb loops are a little tight for me but I do have large hands with a lot of thumb meat.Hood is volumous and unstructured but it moves around on my head well enough that it's not an issue all.Construction wise it's good but not brilliant, they added a nice extra bit of fabric around the back of the neck covering an otherwise irritating seam, flat seams over the shoulders will wear nice under a backpack but would have been nice to see them along the side of the body for under a hipbelt/harness(or maybe a tubular construction). Bartacking round the thumb is nice as its a high stress area.Length is good in the body and arms, fit a little tight round the chest for a medium, would like a little less tight for better air flow. Thumb holes are well positionedAll in all well designed but you get what you pay for, good value but room for improvement. A deep centre 3/4 length zip might be a nice addition that I'd be willing to pay a bit more for but it'd have to be executed well so it doesn't chafe.Will try to update the review after further use.Review update:Overall my initial impressions remain the same with a few caveats and things to look out for.Fit over the forearms is fairly tight making it impossible for me to comfortably roll up past my elbows which is a downside especially as the fabric is fairly thick. Speaking of the fabric it is also sadly weft knit not warp knit meaning any nicks or small tears are likely to propagate(think ladies stockings).

Excluding one shoulder wearing thin in the last few weeks of a 6 month thru hike, this hoody survived. For the price (and being a random no brand product on Amazon) I am really impressed with its durability. The material is quite thick and as such it's a little on the heavy side compared to what I would usually wear, but I imagine this is what gives it the UV protection factor and durability. Keep in mind this was worn all day every day for 6 months with a fully loaded backpack. I even slept in it most nights. Don't judge me, judge the hoody. I am writing this review as I'm about to request another as a Christmas present and will use it on my next hike.

I recently wore it while paddleboarding under the bright midday sunshine, and I can happily report that I didn’t get burnt, despite having ginger hair and a very pail complexion.The UPF 50+ protection provided by this hoodie is great, it gives me the peace of mind to enjoy my outdoor activities without worrying about sunburn and having to cover myself in sticky sun cream which ruins my clothes. The fabric is not only effective at preventing sunburn but also lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for staying cool down on the beach.Another good feature of this hoodie is the thumb sleeve holes which cover the backs of my hands stopping them getting burnt, you don’t need to use them and when you dont they are unobtrusive When worn normally.In conclusion, I highly recommend the FEDTOSING Men’s UPF 50+ Hoodie for anyone seeking reliable sun protection and comfort. It’s a fantastic addition to any outdoor wardrobe, and I can’t wait to wear it again as soon as this horribly weather we are having stops, where did the sunshine go!

Not bad value for the UV protection you get, just make sure to get the right size for you, you need a bit more loose fit while out in the sun for extended periods.
