One of the problems drilling hardware holes is the bit likes to move out of position, ever so slightly, and take the jig with it. With this bit, the tip is a point and center the bit into the jig so this can't happen. Very good investment for drill holes.

gute Festool-Qualität, wie immer. Leider lässt sich der Bohrer nicht austauschen, war aber wohl mein Fehler, hätte einen anderen bestellen müssen, ansonsten top.

This is a high quality drill bit which produces an accurate and clean hole. What makes this bit unique is its design. The Centrotec bit used in a drill with a Centrotec chuck engages the chuck deeply in close tolerance stabilizing the bit preventing wobble which enhances accuracy. Is it more costly than a standard bit? Yes. What accounts for that you might ask. To answer that question I would submit that it is several factors. Engineering and design, quality materials and manufacturing, and quality control. If that is what you expect in a product then cost is the lesser issue. Each consumer must decide which products meet their needs best. This bit meets my needs.
