Y’know how they would always say about Jimi Hendrix , that when he played electric guitar it would feel like it was an extension of him?Sorta like there was no Jimi and no guitar but rather one seamless entity channeling all that rocky bluesy goodness???Well , that’s how you’ll feel when you start sanding with this fine genius of a specimen !!Only you’ll be sanding instead, but believe me it’ll feel like you’re playing music , and when you’re done , not only will the results be simply gorgeous, but I swear you won’t feel the slightest bit of fatigue in your hand , even after hours of work!!Really this is one of Festool’s greatest masterpieces in recent years , in my opinion, at least in the sanding department.I actually already had a similar version of this sander , the ETS-EC 150/5 , with its slightly larger 5mm stroke, I got on eBay for a good deal a long while ago, and used it initially for overhead paint stripping. Man that turned a typically very strenuous and time consuming job, into a walk in the park!Simply a joy to use this one is!Then I saw that Amazon DE have this125mm version (with its smaller 3mm stroke, which is more appropriate for finer sanding and finishing then for stripping paint) at a really great price , so…couldn’t resist and went for it!And the cherry in that regard , to those not in the know, is that with this 125mm version you can still hook up your 150mm pads( but not vice versa🤷🏻‍♀️😔🤠) , so if you already purchased the super soft and hard pads for the ETS-EC 150/5 and don’t wanna shell out the extra dough for extra 125mm pads, then you can use those on this 125 one…you’ll still be getting that finer 3mm stroke of course, only with a larger surface sanding area.The main great features of this sander, to anyone not familiar with Festool’s usual design,technological and engineering wonders, are its ergonomics and low , close to the surface shape, a (very) quick acting brake that stops the pad motion immediately when you hit the power button( which is also located in a very convenient place on the sander), and of course , as with all Festool Tools, simply outstanding dust extraction. Oh, and a brushless motor ,hence the “EC” in the name , which is responsible for this machine’s long life and rock-hard reliability.All this adds up to a really enjoyable sanding experience , which is virtually totally vibration free so there is little to no stress or numbing of your hand , even after hours of continuous sanding.
