Fiasco Companion

Create characters, determine their relationships and go from either zero to hero, or vice versa, all in the space of an evening. Who would have thought you could complete an RPG in one session, starting with nothing whatsoever except the book and some dice? What is more, who would have thought it would be great?Fiasco is great. I think you need to be in the right mood. Not a game to play when people are tired or moody. But if everyone is up for a good time it is excellent. Players need to come out of their box though. There is no GM. People have to muck in and get their creative juices flowing. But the game mechanics do help with that.The playing mood is a bit like Paranoia RPG i.e. fun. Just like that game, keeping your character alive and/or successful is not strictly under your control. It's not the primary goal anyway. What matters is the story. If you let go and enjoy the ride you will get more out of it.

Got the book as a gift for my boyfriend to go with the base game. I'm super excited to play.

Fiasco is great and the companion just adds more goodness. Enjoy adding more depth to your groups hopeless adventures. Oh, do beware of the dreaded triple-double cross.

Fascinating insight into running and playing the game. Gave me loads of good ideas.
