I got this as I have been to bike park wales a few times and going down some of the trails during the summer can mean it is stone chip city. This downtube protector strives to protect the frame from little chips but also some of the bigger stuff on the rock garden when you are bottoming out.My specialised Status 160 has a very slack geometry, which means that it is amazing to ride but also very low to the floor when going over certain bits. Pedal strikes and lifting large rocks are something that can happen a lot of the time. Getting a chain ring bashguard was the first thing but getting a down tube protector was my second goal.This downtube protector has been excellent! The rubber is nice and thick, easy able to take the hits from smaller rocks, but also thick enough to take a rolling over of a large rock. I have sat 50/50 on top of a feature I was not able to get over with this protecting my frame. Nothing so far has pierced it.The installation of this was also pretty easy. You just need to make sure the area is nice and clean before applying it otherwise it may not stick so easily. I found drawing a small line down the centre of the frame made it a little easier to apply straight.At £12.99, this was one of the cheaper upgrades for my bike. I have been very happy with the protection it has given me! 5/5, I can highly recommend this to others!

The rubber is thick and durable, which gives me confidence that it will provide great protection against any impacts or abrasions while I'm riding. It fits perfectly on the down tube and doesn't shift around. It’s definitely a simple yet effective way to keep your bike frame looking new.

Got a new ebike, so I wanted to throw something on the bottom of the frame to protect it when I throw the bike into my truck, so I grabbed this. Turns out, it's super simple, but works great! It's pretty thin material, so at some point, it's not gonna help protect anything, but rubbing up against the corner of my tailgate should be totally fine now, without scratching the paint on the bike (or the truck, for that matter). The adhesive covers the whole rubber piece, so as long as you clean and dry your bike frame ahead of time, it should stick on just fine. So far, so good!
