SUMMARYThis is a well made well presented tool which works. It is a look like for the tool from the leading manufacture and as best as I can tell is as good if not better than the leading tool on the market. All stainless steel except the bolts and pivot axle which are necessarily manufactured from a hard steel.Machining is good and there is no unacceptable sloppiness in the tool. The tolerances used are adequate for measurable alignment to the 3 mm suggested by the leading tool manufacturer.VALUE:The price point (£42.99 -on offer at £36.54) puts this tool in the medium price bracket. The make quality of the tool justifies this and makes the tool reasonable value for money.In my view the higher price tools of other tools is being paid for the brand name not the quality of manufacture or materials.There seems to me little that could be done to improve this tool and a high price could only be justified by a more well known brand sticker on the toolAt the offer price given the Brand name is not widely known and this is a me-too product the price represent good value fr money. Any higher would need some additional benefit to be provided which seems impossible.MY NEED: I wanted a semi professional rear derailleur alignment tool but did not want to pay the high price of the tool from the leading USA bike tool manufacturerThis tool from Mimoke was less than half the price of the market leading professional tool and from the pictures seemed to be identical.PRESENTATION & CONSTRUCTION:The tool came packed in a robust and smart box. What was noticeable was the attention the manufacture had given to packing the tool in the box. It was held in place with several tightly fitting and high density foam blocks. It was not possible for it to move inside the box. This attention to detail does suggest a seller of a quality product that cares.Inside were a schematic showing in exploded view the individual parts of the tool. This was enlightening as it showed some positive aspects of the tool which were not seen from the pictures or gotten form the text description (see later in this review).Also in the box was a bag in which to store the tool and an Allan/hex key needed to tighten and loosen the crimp bolt which holds the shaft inside the head. The bag was big enough to store tool when it is fully assembled. No usage instructions were included in the box.The tool feels solid and weighty and in the hand gives the impression of a quality product. The finish on the bar is shiny with no blemishes.The sliding measuring bar, the head, and square arm are made from stainless steel - this was confirmed using a magnet.I was pleased to see that the shaft which screws into the derailleur hanger and the grub screw which is used to lock down onto the shaft and hold it in place were made from a much harder (non stainless) black steel. This is necessary for the tool to work properly and not strip out of the threads of the hanger when in use.LOOK ALIKEThus tool looks like the market leading product from the USA. To the best of my judgement it seems that this tool is of the same make quality and uses material of the same quality as the market leading tool. Feedback from users of similar tools and also of the market leading tool suggested to me areas that might be of concern. I checked these out and could find no issues with this tool. Areas I checked included:MAKE quality– Users of similar tools complained of sloppiness in the tool. The Mimoke took did not have any excessive sloppiness. The only areas of sloppiness was the shaft wobbling in the head. This was very slight and could be reduces by tightening the grub screw.There was also reports of other tools having poor welds. The weld on the Mimoke tool look good. The machining seem to be of high quality.Overall the finish on the bar and head was without blemish and goodMATERIAL quality - In look alike tools material quality is sometimes less than the market leader. I this case the material used seemed to be of a high quality. The bar is of substantial size and made of stainless steel. I was pleased to see that the shaft and grub screw were made of a much harder steel and no compromise had been made here.DESIGN – Not obvious from the pictures or from the marketing text are few very nice features which may set this tool apart from others and make it even more like the leading tool on the market.Firstly this tool uses a replaceable screw thread in the shaft so if needed it could be replaces by a longer screw which passes right through the hanger to allow a bolt to be attached on the other side. I do not see the need for this but some have suggested that this is needed in such a tool.Secondly a spring system is used to stop the bar bracket from sliding down the bar. The screw nut is used only to keep the measuring bar locked into the moveable slide.Thirdly The end of the grub screw is chamfered to a point so that it sits tightly into the groove on the shaftUSE:I recommend that before using the tool instructions on how to align a derailleur and use this tool are reviewed. The manufacturer of the USA tool provides an excellent video on how to align derailleurs using such a tool.In use this Mimoke tool proved to be moire than adequate for the purpose. There was no excessive play in the tool and any that was there could be reduced by tightening the grub screw which held the head on the shaft.The O rings used to mark the distance on the slide bar were more than adequate. Users of similar tools have commented unfavourable on this system but is it used by the leading manufacturer and works well. The accuracy of measure when alighting the derailleur is only 3 mm so the O rings are more than able to mark this. All that is needed is care not to move these O rings when using the tool and if they do move it is the fault of the user not the tool.The screw thread screws nicely into the derailleur hanger without any sloppiness and when tightened firmly there is no movement.If you need to correct the hanger by using the bar there is no bend in the bar and the screw thread does not move in the hanger

visually this looks good, but it was quite rough and had some small metal shavings in the set screw hole, I got it to work ok for the odd adjustment but I should have bought the park
