In my career as a content creator I spend a lot of time wearing headphones or earbuds. I typically purchase "average" earbuds but am never really impressed by their sound. They get the job done and that was enough for me. This is the first time that I've ever purchased a pair of IEMs and wow...what a difference. The FD15s can really crank out some volume even with a very low powered signal. The sound is also crisp and clean. The mids aren't muddy and the highs aren't tinny. The bass is present but it's not going to win over any bassheads or low frequency audiophiles. These are pricey compared standard wired or wireless earbuds but seem fair priced when compared to other IEMs. FiiO even makes a pair of IEMs that are $1k, so for around $150 I think it's a pretty fair bang for the buck. They include tons of pairs of different foam and gel ear 'fittings' (I'm brainfarting and can't think of what they're called right now) so you can get a snug fit in your ear regardless of your ear size. The weight of the FD15s is quite something, their stainless steel bodies are heavy but I like it more than earbuds that feel light and flimsy. They feel comfy and snug in the ear but the way the wire wraps around the ear..it touches behind my ear in a place that a wire or hook would never touch and it throws me for a loop. It doesn't hurt or anything, just different and something I'll likely get used to. The modular "sound tunnels" are an interesting concept but the difference in the sound each produces is negligible at best. It is nice to see manufacturers trying new things and new technologies however those little "sound tunnel" things need a bit more evolution and development before they really make a difference. All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase. These seem very durable given their stainless steel bodies and high quality wires, something that I'll get years of use out of. If you're looking for a very specific sounding IEM or earbud, these aren't for you (e.g. bass heavy, treble heavy, etc) but if you're looking for something that provides a very high quality, all-around sound then these are 100% what you are looking for. Note that I use them for primarily for phone conversations and voice calls and they are fantastic for this. You can hear every little detail and inflection in one's voice on the other end of the line and struggling to hear someone when the signal is low is a thing of the past. Plenty of volume to go around with these.Oh...what is strange is the clear drawer that it comes with that has a Lego-style pattern on the top of it. I would have rather they came with a nice carrying case. The drawer is nice to keep all the accessories in but doesn't make much sense for anything other than that. Just a peculiar choice to include in the product offering.

You won't find better for $200!I have a few pairs of FIIO iems, the FH3's, 5's and 7S as well as Shure SE215, SE425's and a few other brands, these FD15's just moved to the top of my list and sound amazing! Pair them with a Fiio Q3 DAC/Amp (now only $125!!) and WOW! Amazing sound package for only $325!!They are a bit on the heavy side but build quality is second to none. The supplied cable is high quality with easily swappable 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced plugs.I did swap out the sound nozzles for better but not overpowering bass and finding the right tips is key for both fit and sound type so play around with what's included or try others if you have them. I also opted for the 4.4mm balanced plug for the Q3. These sound even more incredible if you have hi res DSD or DSF music files. My only real complaint is the absolutely crappy, cheap plastic storage case! I get keeping costs down and all but come on! Even the case that came with the FH3 and 5 would been a better option. A minor thing really but it would've really completed an otherwise great experience.Overall the FD15's are an amazing value for the money, which is why the title reads simply......Just get them!!

Dang this competes with the $200+ single dd like ea1000, Falcon ultra and tanchjim origin! If you are curious about the origin and want one on the cheap this is a great option! It surpasses the dunu kima 2 easily, even though it is very similarly tuned. Bass is more midbass focused and snappy. Treble is smooth, spacious and airy. Midrange does a great job with vocals and natural sounding instrumentation. If you love mids and natural timbre across the frequency range these are your iem!
