Very smooth and accurate cutting of holes. Glad I invested in this high quality set.

For cutting large holes in wood, I had only used spur bits or hole saws before. For a particular problem of a 50MM diameter, 80MM deep hole in hardwood, which I had to do by hand, neither of the above would do: the spur bit would have been a real wrist wrencher, and the hole saw would have got very hot and would have needed constant clearing out.After some research, I went for these Fisch bits for their quality and the wave-cut design, which was supposed to be better for my purpose. I was delighted by how well they worked. Cutting was quite slow into hardwood, but they didn't walk off, never snatched or tore at my wrists, and the cylindrical edges and the base of the hole were precisely cut and beautifully finished with no scorching and no need for further sanding.Gosh — if only I had known about Forstner bits sooner!

Makes beautiful flat bottom holes. Couldn't be happier.

These are the best Forstner bit I have ever owned. My other bits would get hot very quickly and dull just as fast due to the heat.But these Fisch bits cut the holes with ease, and were cool to the touch. So if you’re looking for a nice set of Forstner bits, I would recommend these. Although they are a little bit on the expensive side, you do get what you pay for (Quality bits).Just added some pictures to show a cheat set and the Fisch bit set. They are both kept in the same room, so have no idea why they are rusting (not happy).Just an update,I have had these bits for about 7 months now.They haven't been used continually over that period, and I was very surprised to see that 3 of the bits have started to rush in the box. I wouldn't of thought they would rush in such a short period of time.I have been in touch with Fisch direct, and they have sent me a replacement set for free. I would say that was very good customer service.
