I lived in Scandinavia for many years and these are what we used to cut cheese slices and they do the job brilliantly. This one is very similar to one I bought from Ikea which broke after about a decade of use. These are not meant to incredibly robust or heavy duty, they should be light and cut a nice fine slice, even on crumbly mature cheddar and that's what this one does. Will it last a lifetime? I doubt it. They're not supposed, especially at this price but if it lasts as long as the last Ikea one it will have set me back a pound a year and I'll be more than happy with that! Good product, recommended thus far!

I like this cheese slicer, it is light, good to hold, easy to clean, easy to use, and cuts perfect slices. Having used many cheese slicers from a very young age, I can say with confidence that this is the best cheese slicer I have ever tried. It also appears to be of very good quality and I will have many years use out of it, I don't expect to have to buy another one (for myself) again. I chose it because Fiskars is a brand I trust with scissors, and it did not disappoint.

Good but only on hard cheeses, helps to produce even slices, no dodgy 'wedges', sharp and with a good comfortable handle, doubt anyone would be disapointed with this cheese plane/slicer.

My European friends laughed at me for using a cheese knife instead of a cheese slicer. So I purchased one and my life changed. The ease of use is superb and the consistency is formidable. I highly recommend this product.
