I got these for my mom who has very bad arthritis in her hands. They are very good for her to cut with. They are a little difficult for her to lock & unlock. Since they are quite sharp, she worries about just leaving them open. She ended up putting little foam tubes on each blade instead which is working well. I also used them & they are very easy to use. I had no trouble locking & unlocking them. They cut well.

The photo is not exactly like the scissors I received. Mine are grey, black, and orange in colour. I was a bit worried about the white and orange pair featured on Amazon, as I have never used them before. However, I was delighted when I received the grey, black, and orange ones from Amazon, because they are identical to my last pair. These squeeze-type scissors are truly much easier on my hand than traditional scissors are. I have sewn thousands of clothing and accessory articles over the years, so appreciate a good pair of sharp scissors. I had my previous pair for about 7 years; they are still sharp as ever. The only problem was that the plastic slider that holds the blades together when not in use wore out, so I could not keep the scissor blades closed. I am not sure if this is an issue with this particular model or if it was just a flaw with the particular pair I had. Still, even if the new pair only last 7 years, they will have paid for themselves many time over. By the way, I never had to sharpen the old pair; they kept their edge all of these years.

These are lovely scissors in the hand & to use.I bought them to use only on myself for general hair-snipping, personal grooming type things (not nails though), & I'm glad I did.Excellent, but being what they are you'd better have your glasses on & be concentrating 100%.Having big hands anyway, my recent inheritance of arthritic bumpy knuckles were making handling standard grooming scissors a real chore to use.. I'd just had enough.I wasn't even aware that squeezy scissors existed until by chance I saw a picture of a pair being used.These are very neat, sit comfortably in the palm & with short enough blades to be really accurate & usable.. They have that pleasing feeling a good quality small pair of wire snips has.There's a built-in soft grip covering on the grip-side of the handles.They are lightly spring-loaded with a small thumb clip to lock the handles closed.The blades are a decent hefty quality/thickness but not in the slightest bit lumpen.. They really handle like something much smaller.It took me a few uses to get comfortable working with these scissors, using extreme caution as my guide, as these blades have seriously sharp & accurate points.I know it's obvious but I think it's worth noting, that especially with the hand power of the grip being used to do the cutting rather than mainly finger power, skin will be snipped just as easily & smoothly as hair will, the scissors will not miss a beat..No, I'm not saying these things would prepare a chicken carcass but I am saying you could butcher yourself right enough unless you're being really careful.. I mean these things are sharp & I certainly wouldn't be using this type of scissors for what I'm using them for if choice was on my side!As the stamped blade says "Fiskars Made in Finland", the quality speaks for itself.I get the impression that if I take care of these scissors, ie. only used by me for what they were bought for & remaining hidden from my loved ones cutting of paper/tape/emery boards/cardboard etc & of course I don't do myself a mischief in the meantime, I'll be well satisfied with these scissors for many years to come.Great job.. Jag tycker om hela saxen, har även den större av den, den passar mej väldigt bra, har man problem med händerna,så är den jätte bra hjälpmedel

I’m only in my 40’s but these are so comfortable and sharp to use for fabric, any other scissors hurt my hands. They are spring loaded to assist your hands.
