I'm running this saddle on a 50cm Dolan PreCursa fixed gear. I use the bike primarily for commuting and playing in traffic in the city. However, one of the challenges of being a short dude is finding bike components that fit you. Saddles are no exception. Especially when you have wide set sit bones like me (139.7 mm). Which means that the standard sized 140ish saddle isn't quite wide enough to support my dump truck.I found this out the hard way after purchasing the Brooks Cambium C15, which is only 140mm wide. I hated that saddle. It seemed like no amount of adjustment could make it feel comfortable.Fed up, I went looking for a replacement and found the Fizik Antares R3 large. The word "Large" is kind of subjective here because it's only 152mm wide, but those extra 12mm make all the difference. I pulled this saddle out of the box, installed it, set the nose to -1 degree as per Fizik's recommendation, then took off on a short ride. And It was heavenly. There was no weird pressure in my perineum like with the Brooks and no sliding round. Instead, I was treated to an overwhelming sense of stability and control. Even when I took my hands off the bars, the bike felt like it was running on rails. I could also feel my sit bones making contact with the broad portion of the Fizik--not something I had felt with the Brooks. Something, about it just felt right.Overall, I'm very happy with this saddle. It ticks all the boxes for comfort, price, and aesthetics. It's really great, and super comfortable. So, if you have wide set sit bones like I do, then this saddle should be perfect for you.I'm already planning on buying another one for my single speed conversion.

Still breaking this in - or should that be the other way round? Very promising. I expect it to keep me comfortably seated during an 80-mile, flat ride in a couple of weeks time.

Got this seat to replace the narrow, flat stock seat on my Scott Solace road bike which left my nether regions numb on rides of more than a half-hour. The R3 Antares is Fizik's mid-range road bike seat for what they call the "Chameleon" body type (more on this later); I'm very pleased with it. No more numbness even on multi-hour rides and it's comfortable. The biggest improvement over the stock seat was simply getting a seat of the proper width. The seat should be wider than the spacing of your sitz bones ("ischial tuberosity," see Wikipedia). Search for "measuring sit bones" on the web to see how to measure their spacing, then buy a seat that's a few centimeters wider than the measurement. The Fizik site lists seat dimensions including width. Makes a huge difference to have your sitz bones supported by the seat rather than having the seat wedged between them. The other improvement was getting a seat with a slight uptilt at the rear to rotate your hips slightly forward, reducing how much you have to bend at the waist to get into a proper riding position. Fizik designs for three body types: Snake (very flexible, seat style Arione), Chameleon (flexible, seat style Antares), Bull (least flexible, seat style Aliante). The slight uptilt at the back of the Antares took a little getting used to -- it's important to put your sitz bones well back in the saddle, almost at the rear -- but it feels very natural to me now and comfortable. The R3 uses Fizik's alloy rails. There are also R1 and 00 versions of the seat with lighter (and stiffer?) carbon rails.
