Bought this to replace a bad pickup in an Epiphone SG. Works great.

In my journey to thicken the sounds of my Tele and PRS, I found FLEOR. Saw some reviews on line. Decided to try.Sound is subjective. Types of pickups are vastly different, and magnets too. Many factors contribute the the overall tone. The sound varies as much as flavors of chips. What is "good" to you, may not be to another, and the differences are VAST. We're not talking about "quality" here, as much as getting the right thing for you.IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY EXPERIENCED (not anecdotally) in the differences between pickups by playing, or installing, and knowing the differences (why the pickups you are playing sound the way they do) you will appreciate these pickups: A5 magnets, medium/high output. Made as well as anything. Indeed when I was experimenting with these and my PRS, Seymour, and other FLEOR set (ceramic) pickups, I had to be sure not to mix them up. The PRS and Seymours are stickered on the back, of course, but otherwise construction is just as good, except pay attention to the threads of the mounting screws. Be sure to use the ones which come with your pickups. These sound very similar to my '57 Gibson USA pickups, and actually a little growlier, and less wooly in the low-end in the neck position. Not that these are by any means thin sounding, just less wool! These are more how I remember PAFs to be. Indeed, I have kept them in an H/H Tele, and PRS Custom 24 where I can't imagine them ever leaving. Very crunchy, "pushy" upfront sound, yet "single mode" (dual parallel for noiseless twang) can jangle like a Fender. Not squeaky, but definitely single-coil timbre. Zero hash/mess on overdrive -- which the the Alnico 2 Seymours, and Alnico 2 PRS I pulled out suffered from. That FIZZ is gone! Yet, they are not dull, just smooth.Very similar tone to JB Juniors (in my Strat).I have ordered some Seymour '59s for reference, yet do not anticipate they will be better, and maybe not as good for me. COVID has them delayed, but I shall return with an assessment when I can!If you want a thinner sound ("cleaner" if you wish) then no. Try Alnico 2 pickups for that, or if a middle ground, similar vibe, but less "push", you want ceramics. If you want your guitar to make a statement: sing, wail, clang, twang -- these will do it!

I usually won't give a crap about a neck pickup, but these TRUELY liven up things in the neck position!! Picked harmonics are effortless and bright!! Not as dull feeling/sounding as the OEM junk of a "budget-guitar". SUPER cheap. SO recommended!!!

Bought this pickup simply as a placeholder in a guitar I was refurbishing, an '85 MIJ Fender Contemporary Strat. It had a Duncan JB in the bridge but was missing a neck pickup. I rewired the guitar with CTS pots and an NOS Vitamin Q .022 tone cap, and set it up with .011-.048 strings. I figured I'd eventually replace this pickup with something "good", but nope, it isn't going anywhere, this thing sounds amazing. It has a round, almost bell-like upper midrange, excellent clarity along the volume range, and a touch sensitivity that I absolutely was not expecting from a budget import pickup. Sounds better than several expensive PAF knockoffs I've heard. Through my 6V6 amp with a clean tone and the highs rolled back it delivers beautiful jazz tones, nice and throaty without losing that bell-like chime in the upper mids, with excellent articulation on fast single note runs. Through my EL84 amp with higher gain it sings with the best of them, mad sustain and great harmonics. Complements the Duncan JB extremely well.$16 pickup... whatever. As far as I'm concerned there was a packaging mixup and they sent me a high-end unit by mistake. I think I'll pick up a few more, maybe they'll screw up again ;-)
