only a woman with extremely small hands or a child can hold this comfortably. not recomended for most average adults. plus the little black retaining plastic over the knot slids up to easily, the knot that connects the string to the clip keeps coming undone.

Nice leash if you have a very small dog that walks by your side. Not for tugging. Very small for your hand to hold

I wanted a lightweight retractable leash for my cats, and this one is excellent. The metal clasp is easy to clip onto the harness and is small enough that it doesn’t put uncomfortable pressure on kitty’s back.The handle fits perfectly in my small/medium hands, and also fits right in my back pocket when the cats get bored and go inside.If you’re looking for any size retractable leash, you absolutely want one that’s the cord style, not the flat, tape style. The tape ones get twisted and knotted up quickly. This cord style leash moves in and out really smoothly.Cats mostly just want to sniff and chew grass and slink around, so a retractable leash is ideal. If kitty’s trying to head too deep into the neighbor’s bushes you can lock the leash and shut that right down. If you have a really rambunctious animal, be careful because they can do some damage to you or themselves by pulling the leash out too fast.I bought 2 of these. I own a Shitzu 14.5 lbs. The size Small is super X-small. I put 3 finger on the loop handle and got stuck and sore fingers in only one 15 min walk. Do not buy the X-small unless it be use by a 5 years old boy. Other than the leash seem very well made.Update: I exchange it for a medium size and it was perfect for my 15lbs Shitzu and for my hands.
