The cost is high but you get what you pay for. Purchased those china ones should have read the reviews yep they are a total waste of money, some were open electrically some were high in resistance. Just spend the money and buy the fluke back probes they work perfectly.

I repair mobile cranes for a living and these are excellent for back probing wire harnesses. I add a little bit of super small shrink wrap to the shaft to avoid short circuiting. I love this TP40 set, hate the price, but I won't lose these a second time!Don't bother with the cheap alternatives if you are a professional. I mean, you already bought a fluke meter right? 5/5 even with the ridiculous price.

For any plugs that you need to check and you don’t want to pierce the insulation……….. even a pinhole will fkuc up your day………. These re awesome! I think 5 or 6 to a pack but unless you want a small and leather needle set with backups, these are nice the way they are. Maybe add heat shrink tubing for some insulation

Used them for the first time last night to troubleshoot the cruise control in my '92 Acura Vigor. It's basically push into connector, release fingers, probe and troubleshoot, then pull out and move to next connector. It stayed connected without having to apply pressure, wasn't a needle tip so not much chance of poking through my skin, and big enough and lots of exposed metal so I didn't have to worry about making connection. The thing that gave me the most problems was a cheap insulated alligator jumper - the insulator was very oily and kept slipping around on the alligator clamp. Made me appreciate that quality probes and jumpers have traits that don't immediately show up.
