I needed a new DAC to partner a Fosi amp (BT30D Pro) I just bought after my last 20-year old amp stopped working so tried this new one and I think it's very good, especially for the price. The build is what you expect, weighty, smooth, and has a great all metal body. The switch is tactile, the selector knob is good, and it's easy to setup.I'm using its optical input, connected to a Wiim Mini, which is streaming lossless music from a Roon server. The DAC is then connected via line out to the Fosi amp, and the amp itself is driving a pair of Wharfedale Linton Heritage. The sound to my ears is great, full and balanced across the range. I appreciate the tone controls on the amp to fine tune the sound. I'm quite fussy when it comes to the quality and have gone through a few other DAC/amp combos prior to this and have seldom been as satisfied as I am now. Now I can relax and enjoy the music.UPDATE: I can hear the clicking mentioned by others when I switched to USB audio in (which is also power in). Between tracks streamed from my Roon server I can hear what sounds like faint clicks so I have decided to return the unit.UPDATE 2: Fosi Audio contacted me with a firmware update which fixes the clicking sound, which was the DAC switching states when there was no incoming audio signal. Firmware fixed the problem and that DAC sounds really good again with USB audio. I'm very pleased. Great customer service, happy to continue with Fosi products and will purchase another Q6 soon.

The Fosi Audio Q6 Mini Desktop DAC is a great little unit that, while not packed with features, does an excellent job – to my ears, at least. I picked this up to drive my powered studio reference monitors from my MacBook's Thunderbolt port, and it works a treat.There's only an on/off switch and an input selector on the unit itself, so if you need volume control, you'll have to run it into something else. Luckily, my monitors have a built-in volume control, so it wasn't an issue for me. I did have one minor glitch when I first got it, where there seemed to be some mild distortion, but I just switched the DAC off and on, and it's been fine ever since.

Der Q6 bestitzt als Eingänge: USB (ist gleichzeitig Stromversorgung), optisch, coaxial. Ausgänge Cinch links/rechts sowie Subwoofer. Auf der Front Ein/Aus und ein Umschalter zwischen den drei Eingängen.Das Gerät ist wertig verarbeitet. Mein Setup: Verstärker Mohr SV50, 18cm-Visaton Boxen, PC als Home-Theater Zuspieler, Yamaha CDX-910 CD-Player. Der Q6 ist mit beigelegtem USB-Kabel mit dem PC verbunden, was sowohl Daten- wie auch Stromversorgung darstellt. Der Q6 wird unter Linux Zorin OS problemlos als Ausgabegerät erkannt, wenn man am Q6 USB wählt. Gleichzeitig ist der CD-Player über Coax mit dem Q6 verbunden. Der Q6 hängt mit Cinch am Verstärker.Den Subwooferausgang habe ich noch nicht getestet. Klang: Wird von den meisten als warm und dennoch hochauflösend beschrieben, dies kann ich nur bestätigen. Klar konnte der PC als Zuspieler nur gewinnen, aber dass der Klang und Auflösung des ohnehin sehr guten Yamaha noch einmal zulegt hätte ich nicht gedacht. Bin begeistert, zudem bei dem Preis, klare Empfehlung.

Ottimo DAC, funziona bene sia con ingresso USB che con ottico e coassiale. Qualità del suono molto alta, suono neutro e bilanciato.Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
